Wisconsin played a major role in the National Women's Suffrage Movement beginning with a vote for Married Women's property rights as the state became inaugurated in 1848. Although women would have to campaign hard for the next 65 years, Wisconsin women stood proud as the state of Wisconsin became the first to ratify the 19th amendment.
