Elizabeth, February 2 1898

Dear Brother

I was happy to receive your letter and am glad that you are doing well, we
too have all reason to thank God with heart and soul.

We are now having a cold winter but do not yet have a sled path, all of
January we had good weather.

Otherwise everything has remained the same with us.

Death has torn gaps here among old and young. Even in the old Fatherland
some old pilgrims have died whom we knew well, which always concerns me
greatly. May it be said of them all that peace still exists for the people
of God.

A Christian seeks and finds shelter and comfort in the Savior even in this
life, and when affliction breaks over him, God only does it to break down
his own will more and more and to free him from the world.

We are at the moment fairly healthy.

Warm greetings to you all

Your brother
Johan Peter Frautschi
