Summary:

Johann thanks Christian for the unexpected gift of a rocking chair which arrived the day before Christmas. He has sent shoes for Christian's twins and slippers for his wife in appreciation. He reports that business is slow and that real estate prices are low, but that the rent he receives on his properties is helpful. His wife continues to ail in health.
