Summary:

John J. Frautschi congratulates Christian on the birth of his new daughter, and mentions that they have a new baby boy, for a total of six children. He mentions another Swiss immigrant who wishes to move to California. Note that in his letter as well as on the business address stamp on the envelope, Johann now refers to himself as John.
