<p rend="indent2">
I just wanted to write you a few lines now that the year is <1b>
ending and to let you know that we are all healthy and doing well<1b>
and once again have good reason to praise the goodness and <1b>
patience of God that he has supported us again throughout this <1b>
past year and has born us up with great patience and instead of<1b>
punishing us for our weakness and sins He has continually<1b>
blessed us. Oh, that the goodness of God would lead us to <1b>
repentence and the path of the righteousness.<1b>
</p>
<p rend="indent2">
As far as our business is concerned, Norwood is no longer as good <1b>
an environment as it used to be. The main reason for this is the<1b>
railroad that was built and now passes about 1/2 mile from<1b>
Norwood. Many stations have been built and many new stores and<1b>
fruit stands are being built near the stations and many of our<1b>
old customers are buying and selling near the stations <1b>
because they are closer, but we have kept many of our customers<1b>
so that we can still make a good living. Next to my store where <1b>
I used to have my harness shop I have added a 99 cent store which <1b>
is now attracting new customers, people can buy toys and other<1b>
small items that they could not get in Norwood previously.<1b>
</p>
<p rend="indent2">
Our beautiful dry winter weather is still here, we marvel that <1b>
there is still no snow but the air is not really pure — death<1b>
still demands its victims, small pox and diphtheria and typhus<1b>
are present everywhere in the state.<1b>
</p>
<p rend="indent2">
I will close with thousands of greetings to you all, wishing you<1b>
a good and happy new year, and that the lord will not withhold<1b>
his sustenance and grace from you in the coming year.<1b>
</p>

Best wishes from all of us to all of you<lb>
