Receipt for a grave stone for Mary Elise (born 28 May 1814, died 3 February 1866), wife of Jacob Frautschi, dated 15 August 1866



About the Image:

A receipt signed by Jacob Frautschi on 15 August 1866 for which he agrees to pay thirty-five dollars for delivery of a white marble head stone for the grave of his wife Mary Elise, who died on 3 February 1866. Note that Jacob specifies it "to be a good job," and that he needed to insert the "c" into his signature.
Original document in the collection of the Max Kade Institute for German-American Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
